Hello, I'm Amy

Wedding + Life Photographer

My path to full-time photography mirrors the richness of my life in Portland. As an artist, I'm equally at home behind a camera, wielding a paintbrush, walking my three dogs, or navigating the rewarding unpredictability of homeschooling my three children—Abigail, Clark, and Tallulah—alongside our dogs and cats. My husband Ryan, whom I met online in 2010, has been my greatest partner in this adventure. From our first conversation to meeting in person, we connected instantly and deeply. My family is everything to me, and I'm committed to helping them discover beauty in life's subtle moments.

I'm passionate about capturing love and the authentic ways people celebrate one another. Whether photographing an intimate wedding, a bold elopement, or a quiet moment in the Pacific Northwest, I seek those instances where people can be fully present and embrace the joy of human connection. If you're looking for a photographer who finds beauty in candid authenticity, cinematic storytelling, and sweet moments, I'm the friend you want photographing your family!

My approach

Everyone big and small deserves to have a photo of themselves they LOVE! Much of how I approach this work is shaped by my own history — not just behind the camera, but also in front of it. I believe people full of love, making you full of beauty.

When I was younger, my sister and I were each other’s favorite muses. We’d spend hours on "photo shoot dates," exploring downtown Salem through a lens and learning how it feels to be truly seen. I understand what it feels like to step in front of a camera and trust the person behind it to capture the real you. That foundation of trust and play is what influences my photography today. Consider me your sister behind the camera!

Let's dance and have fun while we take photos!

I’ve been holding a camera since I was gifted my first SLR in high school in 2005. I learned patience in a darkroom — coaxing images out of light and chemistry — and I’ve loved the process ever since. I started my photography business in 2015 when I was pregnant with my daughter, realizing I wanted to inspire her to dream big!

Mother of the Bride

- Debra Fisher

"My daughter's wedding was rescheduled from June to September, Amy was flexible every step of the way.   During the wedding she was right where she needed to be and helped keep the day moving. She took time with each member of the family to make sure they had photos with the couple. She caught so many things I miss during the day that I got to see in the photos. My daughter was very happy with everything and happy she could move the date. Thank you for all your hard work, you gave us the best gift with these beautiful photos."
